Minoru Kawabata (22 May 1911 – 29 June 2001) Japanese artist, whose works comprise Abstract Expressionist, Color field paintings.〔(Profile ), lccn.loc.gov; accessed 5 May 2015.〕 ==Life and work== Kawabata was born in Tokyo in 1911. He graduated from Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts in 1934. He studied in Paris and Italy between 1937-39. Starting in 1950 he taught art at the Tam University, Tokyo; he was a professor of art there until 1955. At the New School for Social Research in New York City he taught for three years until 1961.
